(Phnom Penh): On Monday ( Mar. 30), General Mao Sophan, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, received a courtesy call and held a working discussion with Major General Giles J.S. Cornelia, Deputy Commanding General of United States Army Pacific, at the Royal Cambodian Army Headquarters.
The meeting aimed to strengthen and further expand the cooperative relationship between the two armies, making it more robust and effective. Both sides engaged in an exchange of views on key areas of cooperation, including the establishment of an Army Staff Talks mechanism, which will serve as a platform for coordinating and guiding annual bilateral cooperation activities.
In addition, both sides discussed the organization of the Angkor Sentinel exercise, a significant joint training initiative aimed at enhancing interoperability and operational capabilities between the Royal Cambodian Army and the United States Army Pacific.
