(Pursat): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn led a high-level delegation to assess the conditions of residents displaced by Thai military encroachment in Thma Da commune, Veal Veng district, on Friday morning (Mar. 27).
The delegation included ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, foreign embassy representatives, and international organisations based in Cambodia.
The visit aimed to provide firsthand insight into the living conditions of affected families and the situation on the ground.
According to reports, Thai military forces entered the area and installed barbed-wire fencing and shipping containers within Cambodian territory. The actions reportedly forced residents to flee their homes due to harassment, raising concerns over violations of Cambodia’s sovereignty.
Notably, the unlawful land seizure by the Thai military occurred after Cambodia and Thailand signed a ceasefire agreement on 27 December 2025. At present, 76 families are sheltering at a temporary site set up at Hun Sen Promaoy High School.
