(Phnom Penh): Acting Head of State Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated Xaysomphone Phomvihane on his re-election as President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) in the inaugural session of the 10th Legislature of the National Assembly, according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Mar. 24).

“Your re-election reflects the trust and confidence attributed to your excellent and extensive experience in successfully leading the legislative body of the Lao PDR. I firmly believe that under your stewardship, the National Assembly will continue to play its vital role in advancing the nation’s development and in realizing the aspirations of the Lao people," said Samdech Techo.

“Cambodia and Laos, as close neighbors enriched by a longstanding friendship, continue to enjoy strong and mutually beneficial relations. I look forward to working closely with you to enhance our inter-parliamentary cooperation, which will further deepen our bilateral relations for the best interests of our two nations, and for regional and global peace, stability, and prosperity,” he added.
