(Kratie): Cambodia has secured another new automobile tyre manufacturing factory with an investment of USD 450 million, expected to create 3,000 jobs in Kratie province, according to the report by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) on 19 March 2026.
This investment project, which will be located in the UBE Snoul Special Economic Zone, marks the third automobile tyre manufacturing factory established in Kratie province and the eighth tyre manufacturing plant across Cambodia.
Currently, Cambodia has eight automobile tyre manufacturing factories located across five special economic zones in Svay Rieng, Preah Sihanouk, and Kratie provinces. These factories use a large quantity of locally sourced natural rubber as a raw material, essentially serving as an on-site export mechanism.
According to a report from the General Directorate of Rubber under the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2025, revenue from domestic rubber sales reached USD 223,041,259. Cambodia has a total rubber plantation area of 448,051 hectares, of which 346,842 hectares (77 per cent) are mature tapping areas, while 101,208 hectares (23 per cent) are under maintenance.
Meanwhile, a report from the Ministry of Commerce showed that Cambodia exported USD 1.38 billion in automobile tyres in 2025, a 57.86 per cent increase from USD 874 million in 2024.
