(Phnom Penh): Smart Axiata, Cambodia’s telco and integrated ICT solutions provider, and Huawei Cambodia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a strategic partnership to develop the 5G device ecosystem, with a particular focus on expanding Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solutions in Cambodia.

The collaboration aims to strengthen both companies’ capabilities by combining Smart’s advanced connectivity infrastructure with Huawei’s device innovation and technological expertise. Through this partnership, the two companies will work together to accelerate the adoption of 5G FWA solutions, enhance customer experience, and support the growth of Cambodia’s digital ecosystem through a mutually beneficial, win-win business approach.

The MOU was signed during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 by Bunny Serey Wathana, Head of Smart Axiata Home Internet Business, and Huang He, Huawei Account Director of Smart Axiata. The signing ceremony was presided over and witnessed by Ritesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Smart Axiata, Lyu Luping, Head of APAC Device Business Department and Li Bo, Head of MBB Product Line.

During the signing ceremony, Ritesh Kumar Singh remarked:

Huawei will cooperate with Smart Axiata to create greater value for Cambodian end users.

As part of this strategic collaboration, Smart 5G FWA introduces a new benchmark for home and small business connectivity in Cambodia. Powered by Smart’s rapidly expanding 5G network, now with over 700 sites in 21 provinces, it is designed for speed, simplicity, and reliability. Smart 5G FWA can be installed in under five minutes and activated instantly via QR code, enabling customers to get online without a complex setup.

Powered by WiFi 6 technology, the solution delivers lower latency, stable high-speed performance, and seamless connectivity for multiple devices, from smart TVs and laptops to CCTV and smart home systems, making it ideal for online educators, home entertainment users, families, and businesses of various sizes, such as retail, multi-branch enterprises, and specific industries.

Furthermore, both parties agreed to promote the availability, adoption, and user experience of FWA business in the Cambodian market, and jointly explore and develop IoT connectivity services in the future.
