(Phnom Penh): Danish Ambassador to Cambodia Danny Annan praised Cambodia for honouring the ceasefire agreement reached on 27 December 2025 in the ongoing border dispute with Thailand and for its commitment to resolving the issue peacefully.

The ambassador made the remarks during a courtesy call on Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, on Monday morning (Mar. 16).

According to Senate spokesperson Chea Thyrith, during the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen reaffirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia remains firmly committed to the ceasefire and continues to pursue a peaceful resolution to the border issue with Thailand.

During the meeting, Samdech Techo also expressed hope that Cambodia–Denmark relations will continue to strengthen throughout Ambassador Annan’s diplomatic tenure.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also expressed satisfaction with the positive relations between the two countries. He noted that Cambodia and Denmark will mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, expressing optimism that the milestone will be marked by a series of commemorative activities.

Ambassador Danny Annan thanked Hun Sen for the opportunity to meet and emphasized his commitment to deepening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in political diplomacy, economic collaboration, trade, and investment.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the ambassador’s commitment and agreed that economic, trade, and investment cooperation should expand further, building on the strong political and diplomatic ties already established between Cambodia and Denmark.

He added that significant potential remains for both countries to broaden cooperation, especially in the areas of trade and investment.

In addition, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also shared his perspectives on current developments in the international situation during the discussion.
