(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet issued a sub-decree approving the establishment of the Kampong Chhnang Multipurpose Port and Logistics Centre, a new infrastructure project combining water and land facilities.

The project includes two designated water areas, both classified as state public property. Section 1 covers 90,471.86 square meters along the riverbank, extending 929.46 meters along the river with a width of 100 meters on each side, including the river buffer zone. Section 2 covers 132,000.77 square meters near Koh Russey, extending 1,100 meters along the island with a width of 120 meters on each side.

A bridge will connect the mainland area (Section 1) with the island section (Section 2) to ensure smooth transportation and operational connectivity.

The port will also include cargo terminal infrastructure with a handling capacity of approximately 2 million tons of cargo per year.
