(Phnom Penh): The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy and American business representatives on Wednesday (Mar. 11) to discuss investment opportunities and business operations in Cambodia.
The Cambodian delegation, led by First CDC Vice Chairman Sun Chanthol, Third CDC Vice Chairman Keo Rottanak, the CDC’s secretary general, and other officials.
The US delegation was led by Bridgette L. Walker, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Cambodia, and accompanied by Casey Barnett, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham), along with several American investors.
Discussions focused on expanding investment opportunities, addressing challenges, and exploring solutions to support US business activities in Cambodia.
Economic relations between Cambodia and the United States remain strong, reflected in robust bilateral trade growth. In 2025, total trade between the two countries reached USD 13.14 billion, a 29.24 per cent increase from USD 10.17 billion in 2024.
Cambodia’s exports to the United States totaled about USD 12.73 billion, up 28.48 per cent, despite new US tariff measures. Meanwhile, imports from the United States reached more than USD 417 million, an increase of 57.83 per cent.
Cambodia’s main exports to the US include garments, travel goods such as suitcases and bags, bicycles, furniture components, and other consumer products. Imports from the US include vehicles, machinery, jewellery, cosmetics, electrical and electronic equipment, and other consumer goods. The United States remains one of the largest markets for Cambodian products.
