(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Minister of Mines and Energy Keo Rottanak affirmed that Cambodia will not face a fuel shortage in the near future, although prices may increase.
Speaking to reporters at the opening of the ASEAN–Cambodia Business Summit 2026 on 4 March 2026, the minister said there are currently no signs of supply disruptions affecting Cambodia.
“At present, we have not seen any indication that Cambodia will face an immediate impact in terms of fuel supply. All companies supplying fuel to Cambodia have guaranteed continued delivery without disruption,” Keo Rottanak said.
However, he warned that fuel prices could increase as newly imported supplies may become more expensive. While global supply disruptions remain possible, Cambodia is not currently facing an immediate shortage.
The minister added that gas prices may also rise, reflecting broader global concerns. He noted that many countries are urging parties involved in ongoing conflicts to return to negotiations and restore peace, as war affects economies worldwide.
