(Phnom Penh): SHADA Football Club President Semo Elfar reaffirmed the club’s commitment to contributing to the development of Cambodian football as it moves forward with plans to join League 2 in the near future.
Speaking to Fresh News on Friday (Feb. 27), Semo Elfar shared the club’s motivation and long-term vision behind this significant step.
“We believe this is the right time for SHADA FC to grow into a more structured and competitive club. League 2 provides a professional environment that will help us enhance our management, player development, and overall standards. It is a realistic and strategic step forward in our club’s development,” the president underscored.
According to him, the club’s long-term plan is to build a stable and competitive team over the next five to ten years, with the ultimate goal of earning promotion to the Cambodian Premier League. Alongside its competitive ambitions, SHADA FC is placing strong emphasis on youth development by creating greater opportunities for young Cambodian players and establishing a solid youth system.
Beyond sporting success, SHADA FC sees its journey as part of a broader responsibility to the national football community.
“SHADA FC aims to support the growth of Cambodian football by nurturing disciplined local talent, particularly young players, promoting professionalism, and contributing positively to the football community both on and off the field,” he continued.
He further emphasized that the club’s ambition extends beyond competition. Its vision includes inspiring the next generation, creating opportunities for young athletes, and using football as a powerful platform to unite communities and foster national pride at both regional and international levels.
“We are confident that this step reflects not only our ambition, but also our responsibility to contribute positively to Cambodian football in the future,” he concluded.
