(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and his high-level delegation safely returned to Cambodia on Thursday afternoon (Feb. 26) after attending the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in the United States and undertaking working visits to Europe.

Samdech Thipadei departed Phnom Penh on 15 February 2026. On 19 February, he participated in the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace held at the Donald J. Trump United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., chaired by Donald Trump.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Prime Minister held discussions with several world leaders, including Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary; Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia; and To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

During his stay in Washington, D.C., he also met with senior US administration officials and received courtesy calls from Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, as well as representatives of international institutions, including the Atlantic Council delegation led by General James L. Jones and President and CEO Frederick Kempe. He further granted exclusive interviews to major international media outlets, including Reuters and Fox News.

In his engagements, Prime Minister Hun Manet briefed counterparts on the situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border, reaffirming that peace remains Cambodia’s core value. He called for full implementation of existing bilateral agreements, peaceful dispute resolution in accordance with international law, the safe return of civilians to their homes, and the rejection of the threat or use of force.

Following the Washington meeting, the prime minister continued his working visits to Geneva and Brussels, where he met with key leaders and stakeholders to further strengthen partnerships and cooperation.
