(Phnom Penh): After two days of intense competition on February 21-22, 2026, the American University of Phnom Penh’s Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court team was once again crowned the National Champion of Cambodia. The team will now travel to Washington, D.C. to represent Cambodia at the International Rounds from March 28 to April 4, 2026.
The AUPP Jessup Team comprises: Noraknun Chhum (Captain), Ratanaleakta Tan, Sovanita Prom, Tepipanhchapor Ing, Chhunlim Se, with Sirimongkul Heng serving as Team Manager, and advisors Vichetneath Nheth, Sancheata Op, Sou Hong Touch, along with Professor Sothie Keo as Coach.
In addition to securing the National Championship title, the team earned several prestigious awards:

The journey to the national competition has been a testament to the dedication and resilience of the students. The process was marked by continuous feedback and revision, which strengthened their analytical and advocacy skills. This achievement underscores the high quality of the Faculty of Law at AUPP and the strength of its law programs, which are designed to cultivate practical skills, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of international legal standards. The faculty’s expertise and mentorship have been instrumental in providing students with real-world insights and personalized guidance, ensuring they are well-equipped to excel on demanding international platforms. Such success reflects the program’s ability to produce highly capable legal professionals who can compete and thrive at the highest levels of international moot competitions and beyond.
Participating in the Jessup International Law Moot Court is a highly competitive endeavor, drawing entries from approximately 700 law schools across 100 countries. Judged by a distinguished panel of volunteer attorneys and judges, the competition simulates a fictional dispute before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations.
Special appreciation goes to the extraordinary efforts of the faculty members, whose guidance has been invaluable throughout this journey, and to the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) for hosting the national rounds.
