(Phnom Penh): Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodian Prime Minister, departed Phnom Penh on Sunday night (Feb. 15) to attend the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace, to be held on 19 February 2026 at the Donald J. Trump U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., the United States.
According to Cambodian Foreign Ministry’s press release dated 14 February 2026, the meeting will mark the formal commencement of the Board's mandate, in accordance with the Resolution of the United Nations Security Council adopted on 17 November 2025, which aims to promote peace and advance efforts towards the reconstruction in Gaza. In addition, the participating leaders are expected to engage in broad discussions on regional and global peace, stability and development.
During his stay in Washington, D.C., Samdech Thipadei will hold bilateral meetings with some US dignitaries and leaders of other countries to exchange views on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various sectors. He also plans to undertake a working visit to Europe, including Geneva and Brussels, where he will meet with prominent leaders and key stakeholders to further enhance partnerships and collaboration.
