(Mondulkiri): The Royal Government of Cambodia approved a $200 million investment to develop a 150-megawatt wind power plant in Sen Monorom City, Mondulkiri province.

The approval was granted by the Cambodian Investment Board (CIB) under the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in January 2026, according to the CDC’s press release. The project is expected to generate 42 jobs.

Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the CIB, confirmed that the investor is a Malaysian-based company with nearly three decades of experience operating across various sectors in Cambodia.

He added that this project represents the third wind power plant registered with the CDC, marking another significant step in Cambodia’s renewable energy expansion.
