(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called for the continued provision of scholarships for outstanding and economically disadvantaged students, particularly female students, to ensure equal access to education and strengthen Cambodia’s human resource development.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Feb. 10) during a meeting with Grade A high school students at OCIC, Phnom Penh.

On the occasion, the premier further called for continuous improvement in curricula for mathematics, science, technology, engineering, and foreign languages to keep pace with rapid technological change under the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He added that the Royal Government must continue to actively and effectively implement education development policies to ensure a high-quality, inclusive education system capable of promoting lifelong learning for all citizens.

Samdech Thipadei also urged greater efforts to expand early childhood education programs and to create favorable conditions that ensure all children complete at least nine years of schooling in safe, clean, and hygienic learning environments.
