(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on Thursday (Feb. 5) praised leaders and civil servants at all levels of the Ministry of Interior for carrying out their duties with responsibility and effectiveness in support of the Royal Government’s policy programs.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Interior’s annual conference, Samdech Thipadei stressed the need to continue strengthening strict crackdowns on crimes that pose serious challenges to society, particularly online scams, traffic offenses, drug-related crimes, juvenile delinquency, and human trafficking.

Samdech Thipadei also highlighted the importance of unity and integrity, stating that all institutions must work together to “clean our own house” by eradicating wrongdoing in order to safeguard the nation and its people. He also warned that strict measures would be enforced without exception against any officials involved in social crimes, especially online scam operations.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei provided priority guidance to the conference, calling for continued protection and assistance for displaced and affected citizens; uninterrupted provision of civil registration and identification services; strengthened human resource development and institutional modernization in line with the digital era; improved quality of public services; and sustained implementation of the Safe Village–Commune–Sangkat policy to ensure the effective execution of the Ministry of Interior’s 2026 work directions.
