(Siem Reap): APSARA National Authority, through its Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology, is currently repairing the wooden bridge at Beng Mealea Temple, which has become severely decayed and dilapidated over time.
The repair work aims to support the development of circuits of the Beng Mealea Temple area and to ensure the safety of tourists visiting the temple complex. The wooden bridge has a total length of 250 meters. In the first phase of the project, APSARA National Authority is repairing 189 meters of the bridge.
Puth Soth, Technical Officer of the Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology, said that the repair work began in October 2025 and has now reached approximately 60 percent completion. The repairs are being carried out from south to north, toward the temple’s main entrance.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2026.
