(Phnom Penh): At the invitation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, will undertake a State Visit to Cambodia from 6 to 7 February 2026, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Feb. 3).

During the State Visit, the king will graciously grant a Royal Audience to Thongloun Sisoulith and host a State Banquet in his honour at the Royal Palace.

During his stay, the general secretary will also lay wreaths at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial of the late King-Father Norodom Sihanouk.

The Lao president will also hold a high-level meeting with Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia.

The State Visit of Thongloun Sisoulith will further strengthen the cordial friendship between Cambodia and the Lao PDR, underscoring shared commitment to further strengthen and deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation in the spirit of “Comprehensive and Long-Lasting Strategic Partnership between Cambodia and the Lao PDR” for the development and prosperity of the two nations and peoples.
