(Phnom Penh): Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodian Prime Minister, affirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia will not abandon any citizens, stressing that national solidarity and unity between the government and the people at this time constitute a powerful strength of the Khmer nation.
His remarks were made on Saturday (Jan. 31) during his meeting with displaced families at Wat Bak Kam safety centre, Tbaeng Meanchey district, Preah Vihear province.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that the hardships faced by displaced citizens are shared by the entire nation. He added that from the king to ordinary citizens, Cambodians across the country share the same sense of pain, compassion, and deep concern for the nation’s well-being.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei expressed his gratitude to Cambodians at home and abroad for their spirit of unity and solidarity during the past six months, a period in which Cambodia has faced challenges stemming from acts of aggression.
““Our people nationwide stand united in one spirit, supporting our heroic armed forces and national police, as well as the families of our soldiers,” the premier said. “The families of our soldiers here have shown remarkable strength and determination in supporting their loved ones as they carry out their duties.”
Samdech Thipadei called on Cambodians to maintain strong spirit of Khmer national solidarity and unity under all circumstances, especially during these difficult times, as this unity represents the enduring strength of the Khmer nation.
Notwithstanding, Cambodia has reaffirmed its position that the Royal Government will not remain silent and will continue to lodge formal protests against Thailand’s actions involving the use of military force to violate Cambodia’s territorial integrity.
