(Cebu): On 29 January 2026, Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn held an informal meeting with Thongsavan Phomvihane, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao DPR, on Cebu Island.

During the meeting, both foreign ministers expressed their satisfaction with the strong bonds of friendship between the two nations. On this occasion, both sides emphasized the significance of 2026, which marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. They further expressed strong commitment in working closely together in preparing meaningful activities to celebrate this historic milestone.

Alongside strengthening bilateral cooperation, the two foreign ministers also took the opportunity to exchange in-depth views on key regional and international issues of common interests and concerns.
