(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen requested the Republic of Korea to share information related to the perpetrator who murdered a South Korean student in Cambodia but was later arrested in Thailand, according to Senate spokesperson Chea Thyrith.

Samdech Techo’s remarks were made during a courtesy call by South Korean Ambassador to Cambodia Kim Changyong on Thursday (Jan. 29) at the Senate.

The Senate spokesperson said that Samdech Techo noted the strong cooperation between Thailand and South Korea in combating online crimes. In this regard, Samdech Techo expressed his wish for the South Korean side to cooperate with Thailand in sharing information related to the murder of a South Korean student that occurred on Cambodian territory, while the suspect was apprehended in Thailand.

It should be noted that the victim, Park Minho, a 22-year-old male South Korean student, arrived in Cambodia on 17 July 2025. Preliminary autopsy results indicated that the victim died of cardiac arrest caused by torture, with multiple bruises found on his body.
