(Phnom Penh): For the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, 2025 was a pivotal year when it confidently crossed the finish line of its efforts for carrying out the five-year plan set forth at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and opened a new heyday of great events and transformations.

True to the struggle orientation for the year advanced at several meetings including the Enlarged Meeting of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, the major industrial sectors of the national economy overfulfilled their production plans through a steady struggle for increased production and economy, and the agricultural field reaped larger grain harvests than those of the previous year. And many major construction projects were completed successfully. The completion of over 20 regional-development policy projects which were started the same year constituted a proud result in realizing the people’s ideals and wellbeing and demonstrated to the full the simultaneous development in the country. And significant successes were attained in implementing the WPK’s policy of modernizing the overall components of the nation’s defence capabilities.

The grand political and cultural events, including those held in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK, helped the whole world clearly recognize the Korean people’s absolute prestige and might, and the sports people distinguished themselves at international games.

All these successes are a brilliant fruition of the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, who made a ceaseless journey for the people throughout the year regarding it as his first and foremost mission to make selfless, devoted efforts for their good. Filled with soaring confidence and optimism that they can bring earlier a brighter future and a happier life when they advance following his leadership, the Korean people are waging a more vigorous struggle to achieve comprehensive rejuvenation and development of their country.
