(Phnom Penh): The Cambodian Ministry of Interior issued an update on Saturday (Jan. 24) concerning the situation following the ceasefire agreement.
According to the press release, which covers the period from 6:00 a.m. on 23 January to 6:00 a.m. on 24 January 2026, an additional 1,255 displaced persons returned to their homes.
Consequently, an estimated 530,000 individuals, representing approximately 82 percent of the total population of over 640,000 displaced persons, have successfully reintegrated into their communities.
As a result, a remaining population of 116,779 displaced persons, comprising 61,455 women and 38,230 children, continues to reside in displacement camps.
