(Phnom Penh): The Cambodian Ministry of Interior issued an update on Friday (Jan. 23) concerning the situation following the ceasefire agreement.
According to the press release, which covers the period from 6:00 a.m. on 22 January to 6:00 a.m. on 23 January 2026, an additional 3,610 displaced persons have returned to their communities.
Consequently, an estimated 530,000 individuals, representing approximately 82 percent of the total population of over 640,000 displaced persons, have successfully reintegrated into their communities.
As a result, a remaining population of 118,034 displaced persons, comprising 62,042 women and 38,690 children, continues to reside in displacement camps.
