(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of 21 January 2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn received a courtesy call from Vladanka Andreeva, newly appointed United Nations Resident Coordinator (UNRC) in Cambodia, on the occasion of her presentation of the Letter of Credence.

The foreign minister warmly welcomed and congratulated Vladanka Andreeva on her appointment as the new UNRC in Cambodia. He highlighted the UN's longstanding contribution to Cambodia's nation-building efforts, particularly in the areas of health, social protection, mine action, climate resilience, support for the country's graduation from LDC, and post-conflict justice through the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC). He emphasized that no nation understands the value of peace more profoundly than Cambodia, given its long history of war and genocide, and reaffirmed Cambodia's strong commitment to continued close collaboration with the UN system.

Vladanka Andreeva expressed appreciation of assuming her duties and commended the Royal Government of Cambodia's progress in promoting development across all sectors. She pledged to strengthen UN cooperation with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions in order to achieve sustainable development.

In conclusion, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the long-standing partnership between Cambodia and the United Nations in line with Cambodia's national development priorities.
