(Phnom Penh): The Cambodian Ministry of Interior released an update on Wednesday (Jan. 21) regarding the situation following the ceasefire agreement.
According to the press release, covering the period from 6:00 a.m. on 20 January to 6:00 a.m. on 21 January 2026, an additional 2,446 displaced persons returned to their homes.
As a result, approximately 520,000 people, or nearly 80 percent of the total more than 640,000 displaced persons, have now reintegrated into their communities.
However, the ministry noted that 125,073 people, including 65,596 women and 40,939 children, remain displaced and are currently staying in displacement camps.
