(Phnom Penh): The Cambodian Ministry of Interior released a formal update on Monday (Jan. 19) regarding the humanitarian situation following the ceasefire agreement.

According to the press release, an additional 1,661 displaced persons returned to their homes. Therefore, out of a total of more than 640,000 displaced persons originally affected by recent border hostilities, approximately 510,000 people have now reintegrated into their communities.

As a result, there are 133,070 displaced persons, including 69,832 women and 43,460 children, remaining in displacement camps. The ministry continues to monitor the situation as part of the ongoing ceasefire implementation to ensure the safe return of the remaining citizens.
