Interior Ministry: Additional 5,820 Displaced Persons Return Home, Total Returnees Reach 500,000

(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Ministry of Interior released an update on Thursday (Jan. 15) regarding the situation following the ceasefire agreement.

According to the press release, which covers the period from 6:00 a.m. on January 14 to 6:00 a.m. on January 15, 2026, an additional 5,820 displaced persons have returned to their homes. This brings the total number of returnees to approximately 500,000 out of the more than 640,000 people who were originally displaced.
