(Preah Vihear): The Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) begun clearance operations to remove unexploded ordnance (UXO) from the historic Preah Vihear Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

CMAC Director General Heng Ratana shared images of the clearance teams in action.

“Preah Vihear Temple is not only a World Heritage site but also a sacred place of immense cultural and historical value,” he stated. “It endured aerial bombings and heavy shelling—acts of brutal and savage destruction stemming from Thailand’s blatant violation of Cambodia’s territorial sovereignty. Those responsible must be held to account.”
