(Phnom Penh): Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodian Nguyen Minh Vu said that in 2025, bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and Vietnam reached USD 11.33 billion, marking an increase of 11.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
Cambodia’s exports to Viet Nam totalled USD 5.66 billion, up 18.4 percent, while imports from Viet Nam reached USD 5.67 billion, an increase of 5.7 percent.
The ambassador made the remarks during a discussion on “The Communist Party of Viet Nam in Viet Nam’s New Era of Development,” held on 8 January 2025, in connection with the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
He expressed confidence that the strong growth momentum would help advance the shared goal of both governments to raise bilateral trade to USD 20 billion in the near future.
The target was reaffirmed during a meeting on 1 September 2025, when Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen met with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam; Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly; and Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Viet Nam. Both sides agreed to continue promoting trade growth toward the USD 20 billion goal within the coming years.
