Cambodia Reports 7,866 More Displaced Persons Return Home as of Jan. 8: Interior Ministry

(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Ministry of Interior released an update on Thursday (Jan. 8) regarding the situation following the ceasefire agreement.

According to the press release, an additional 7,866 displaced persons returned to their homes. As of January 8, 2026, approximately 470,000 people have returned out of more than 640,000 displaced nationwide. A total of 178,894 displaced persons remain in temporary camps.
