(Phnom Penh): Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cambodia, announced that Saudi investors will visit Cambodia in 2026 to explore investment opportunities through the Saudi Chambers of Commerce.
He made the remarks during a courtesy call and farewell meeting with Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, at the Senate Palace on Tuesday (Jan. 6) following the completion of his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
According to Senate Spokesperson Chea Thyrith, Samdech Techo warmly welcomed the ambassador and expressed pleasure at their meeting. He praised the ambassador’s efforts and contributions, particularly his role in facilitating Samdech Techo’s official visit to Saudi Arabia, which helped further strengthen Cambodia–Saudi Arabia relations.
On this occasion, the Saudi ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to Samdech Techo for granting him and his colleagues the opportunity to pay a courtesy and farewell call. He noted that during his mission in Cambodia, he had accumulated many fond memories of the country and its people.
He commended Cambodia’s continued development across multiple sectors and voiced hope that the country will soon rank among the more advanced nations in ASEAN.
He further highlighted the strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly through the exchange of visits by leaders of both nations. He reaffirmed to Samdech Techo that in 2026, Saudi investors will travel to Cambodia to seek various investment opportunities through the Saudi Chambers of Commerce.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the ambassador’s remarks with satisfaction, noting that this aligns with the core of what he wishes to see in bilateral relations namely, the further development of trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. He also welcomed the planned visit of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce delegation to Cambodia to explore investment opportunities.
Samdech Techo added that past exchanges of visits have played an important role in strengthening bilateral relations and expressed hope that people-to-people ties between the two nations will continue to improve, further contributing to the overall advancement of Cambodia–Saudi Arabia relations.
In closing, Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended his best wishes to the Saudi ambassador for continued success in his future endeavours.
