(Phnom Penh): The State Secretariat of Border Affairs informed that the special meeting of the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) of the two sides, scheduled to be held in the first week of January 2026 in Siem Reap, at the request of the Cambodian Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) on 28 December 2025, has been postponed by the Thai side, citing the reason of waiting for internal procedures.
In response, the Cambodian side has once again requested the Thai side, through a Note Verbale dated 5 January 2026, to convene a special meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand Thailand–Cambodia Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) in the second or third week of January 2026 in Siem Reap Province, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Jan. 6).
