(Phnom Penh): In response to media queries regarding Cambodia’s views on the latest development concerning Taiwan issue, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia wishes to re-emphasise that Cambodia strongly advocates for the efforts to maintain regional peace, stability and harmony and upholds the principles of mutual respect and the peaceful resolution of differences and disputes. Cambodia earnestly hopes that all parties concerned will find appropriate avenue to de-escalate the situation.

"Cambodia resolutely adheres to the One-China Policy and recognizes that the Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole lawful government representing the whole of China, and that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory," according to the statement seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Dec. 31).

"Cambodia considers the issue related to Taiwan an internal affair of the People's Republic of China, supports China’s effort to achieve national reunification, while opposing any form of “Taiwan Independence”."
