(Phnom Penh): The Cambodian Ministry of National Defence firmly rejected a statement issued by Thailand on Monday (Dec. 29) alleging that more than 250 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were detected crossing from Cambodia into Thai territory.
The Ministry of National Defence completely refutes these accusations.
The ministry said the accusation is baseless and completely untrue, reaffirming that the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces remain firmly committed to honoring the steadfast implementation of the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of General Border Committee (GBC) between Cambodia and Thailand dated 27 December 2025, and the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand signed on 26 October 2025 and other related agreements.
These efforts, the ministry stressed, are dedicated to ensuring a speedy recovery and a return to normalcy, peace, stability, and security for the people living along the border areas of both countries.
The ministry added that strict instructions have been issued to all border provinces and authorities prohibiting the launch of any type of UAV. It confirmed that no drone launches have taken place.
