(Phnom Penh): Cambodia and Thailand agreed to an immediate ceasefire with effect from 12:00 hours noon (local time) on Saturday (Dec. 27), according to a Joint Statement of the 3rd Special General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting.

In the joint statement, both sides must avoid unprovoked firing or advancement or movement of troops towards the other side's positions or troops.
