(Phnom Penh): The 3rd Special Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting has commenced at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday morning (Dec. 27) at Prom-Pak Kard Permanent Border Checkpoint, between Pailin Province, Cambodia, and Chanthaburi Province, Thailand, under the observation of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) of both Cambodia and Thailand.
The Cambodian delegation was led by Cambodian Defence Minister General Tea Seiha and Co-Chairman of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC). The Thailand delegation was led by Thai Defence Minister General Nattaphon Narkphanit, and Co-Chairman of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC).
This 3rd Special Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting was convened to reach a ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
Cambodia firmly anticipates that this 3rd Special Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting will yield a practical and implementable ceasefire, provide the opportunity for affected civilians to return safely to their homes, and encourage both countries to continue utilizing existing mechanisms to resolve issues peacefully.
