(Phnom Penh): On Thursday afternoon (Dec. 25), Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a briefing for foreign diplomats and UN agencies accredited to Cambodia regarding the latest developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.

The briefing was led by Nong Sakal, Deputy Secretary-General and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of 24 foreign diplomatic missions and UN agencies in Cambodia.

The briefing came as Thai troops launched a second wave of incursions, carrying out indiscriminate attacks along the border and entering Cambodian territory.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, from December 7 to the present, 30 Cambodian civilians have been killed and 87 injured as a result of Thai attacks. A total of 636,679 people have been displaced, including 331,850 women and 202,455 children.
