(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Ministry of National Defence reported a series of Thai military attacks on Cambodian territory on Wednesday (Dec. 24), involving artillery shelling and fighter jet airstrikes in multiple provinces.

According to the ministry, at 10:28 a.m., Thai forces fired 26 artillery shells into Sampov Laun Commune, Sampov Laun district, Battambang province, damaging Chan Deang Pagoda.

At 11:00 a.m., Thai fighter jets dropped four bombs in Srei Snam district, Siem Reap province.

From 12:15 p.m. to 12:26 p.m., Thai forces deployed T-50TH fighter jets to drop cluster bombs in Slor Kram commune, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province.

Later, at 2:02 p.m., a Thai T-50TH fighter jet dropped one bomb in Banan district, Battambang province.

The brutal actions above are indiscriminate attacks by the Thai military, a serious violation of international law.

Cambodian forces continue to retaliate fiercely and monitor the situation closely and remain highly vigilant.
