(Phnom Penh): In light of the ongoing conflict along the Cambodia-Thailand border, AUPP community’s heartfelt support has been evident. The crisis, resulting from military aggression and invasion, has caused significant hardship, displaced families, and disrupting education. As an institution dedicated to education and community service, AUPP schools, students, staff, and faculty stand together in support of our fellow Cambodians during this difficult time.

On December 20, the American University of Phnom Penh, AUPP Liger Leadership Academy, and AUPP High School-Foxcroft Academy, donated USD 10,000 in funds and more than USD 12,000 worth of essential supplies for women and infants to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOEYS). These donations are part of our AUPP schools’ effort to support displaced families and vulnerable groups in the affected communities, providing immediate relief and vital resources during this challenging period.

In addition to that, the AUPP Student Government Association (SGA) also launched the "Together for Peace" donation drive campaign on December 15th. The ongoing campaign has raised over USD 10,000 so far in funds and collected essential products such as food, clothing, and hygiene supplies. These donations will be distributed to evacuation camps and communities most affected by the conflict in Siem Reap, demonstrating the strong spirit of solidarity and support among AUPP students.

Similarly, at the outbreak of the conflict earlier in the year, AUPP launched the "Rebuilding Schools, Restoring Dreams" campaign. The AUPP community visited three primary schools—Ta Muan Senchey, Monorom 1+2, and Boos Thom—all impacted by the border conflict. These efforts have helped fund the reconstruction of damaged classrooms and provided essential supplies to over 200 students in Ta Muan Senchey, allowing them to return to a safe and nurturing learning environment. AUPP continues to work closely with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), having contributed a cash donation of USD 7,000.

In the same spirit, in August 2025, the students-led AUPP Business Society initiated relief efforts by organizing a successful fundraising campaign that raised USD 3,000. The proceeds were delivered to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Phnom Penh City Hall to help empower and assist vulnerable communities. Their initiative exemplifies the active engagement of AUPP students in addressing national crises.

Through these collective initiatives, the AUPP community reaffirms its commitment to fostering peace, resilience, and hope. Education remains a powerful tool for rebuilding lives and communities, and AUPP stands in solidarity with Cambodia’s vulnerable populations. Their goal is to provide immediate relief, rebuild futures, and restore dreams—showing that compassion and action can make a meaningful difference during these challenging times.
