(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of 18 December 2025, Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a telephone call with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
During the call, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and also advancing the building of the all-weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Saturday (Dec. 20).
Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn briefed Foreign Minister Wang Yi the latest development of escalating Cambodia-Thailand border conflict. He reiterated Cambodia's commitment to the ceasefire agreement, measures de-escalation and peaceful settlement of disputes agreed by both sides including in Kuala Lumpur on 26 October 2025.
Cambodian foreign minister expressed Cambodia's deep appreciation for China's active contribution and constructive role in fostering peace and dialogue between Cambodia and Thailand, the press release added.
