(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Information Minister Neth Pheaktra on Tuesday (Dec. 17) shared a video message on his social media conveying Cambodia’s warning to the United Nations Security Council over Thai airstrikes inside Cambodian territory.
In the message, Cambodia’s top envoy to the United Nations stressed that Thai airstrikes penetrating deep into Cambodian territory constitute a clear act of aggression rather than an exercise of self-defence, and cautioned that continued international silence risks normalizing the unlawful use of force.
“Thai airstrikes penetrating deep into Cambodian territory amount to outright aggression, not self-defence, and international silence risks turning unlawful force into an accepted norm,” the envoy warned before the Security Council.
