Education Ministry: Over 1,000 Cambodian Schools Closed Due to Thai Border Attacks, Nearly 250,000 Students Affected

(Phnom Penh): The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports confirmed on Monday (Dec. 15) that ongoing Thai military attacks along the border have forced the closure of 1,039 schools across six provinces.

As of 15 December 2025, the closures have disrupted education for 9,797 teachers and 242,881 students, the ministry said.
