(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Information Minister Neth Pheaktra announced on Monday (Dec. 15) that the number of civilians killed by Thailand’s armed aggressive attacks has risen to 12, with 74 injured. The number of displaced civilians has increased to more than 400,000 people.

According to the minister, the Thai military has used a wide range of heavy weapons, including fighter jets and cluster munitions, to carry out acts of aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Cambodia. Over the past eight days of armed aggression, the Thai military has deliberately targeted civilians, including civilian homes, villages, roads and bridges, schools, hospitals, and Buddhist pagoda, temples.

These attacks, involving heavy weapons, aerial bombardment, cluster bombs, and toxic smoke, have resulted in the deaths of 11 innocent Cambodian civilians, including one infant, and injuries to 59 others, as of 14 December 2025, he added. As of the evening of 14 December 2025, the number of people displaced by the Thai military’s armed aggression has reached 120,814 families, equivalent to 403,601 individuals, including 208,266 women and 97,209 children.

The minister also reiterated that Thailand must bear responsibility for its acts of aggression against Cambodian territory and for deliberately targeting civilians. These actions constitute serious violations of international law and fundamental human rights.
