(Phnom Penh): The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) extended its congratulations to Bamnang Academy, which has been selected for investment by Plug and Play, a prominent Silicon Valley-based technology accelerator in the United States.
Minister Chea Vandeth said that “Plug and Play’s decision to invest in Bamnang Academy reflects the collective efforts to build a supportive environment for talented innovators to seize growth opportunities nationally and globally. This investment marks a significant milestone for Cambodia’s growing digital startup ecosystem and showcases the outstanding capability of Cambodian entrepreneurs in the digital technology sector.”
David L. Almirol, Undersecretary for E-Government of the Department of Information and Communications Technology of the Philippines, awarded a USD 10,000 cash prize to both Jobify and Bamnang.
Plug and Play is one of the world’s most renowned startup accelerators, credited with supporting early-stage founders who have gone on to build more than 30 unicorns globally — companies valued at over USD 1 billion. Google itself expanded from early backing by Plug and Play. The Plug and Play ecosystem connects founders with major investors, corporate partners, and world-class mentors, enabling startups to scale faster, innovate boldly, and realise billion-dollar potential.
Bamnang Academy was founded by three former students of the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP).
