(Phnom Penh): On Saturday (Dec. 6), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, UNESCO, and the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT) officially announced the launch and implementation of the Internet Development Assessment Recommendations in Cambodia.

These recommendations were developed based on a study conducted using UNESCO’s global Internet indicators known as ROAM-X.

Cambodian Minister of Post and Telecommunications Chea Vandeth said that the ROAM-X indicator-based assessment serves as a “clear mirror” reflecting the actual state of Cambodia’s Internet ecosystem, grounded in important international standards such as Rights, Openness, Accessibility, Multi-stakeholder participation, and the Cross-cutting nature of digital technologies.

The recommendations stemming from this report have become a crucial input for the Royal Government in shaping and guiding the implementation of the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021–2035 and the Digital Government Policy 2022–2035, making them more effective and up-to-date.
