(Banteay Meanchey): Residents of Prey Chan and Chork Chey villages in Ou Beichoan Commune, Ou Chrov District, Banteay Meanchey Province, have returned to their homes on Tuesday (Nov. 25) after observing that the situation had calmed down.
The residents of Prey Chan and Chork Chey had been continuously evacuated from their communities since 12 November 2025 following an incident in which Thai soldiers opened fire on Cambodian civilians in Prey Chan Village, killing one person and injuring three people.
With the residents returning, provincial authorities, including the working group at Chan Sy Pagoda Safety Centre, arranged transportation to help take the villagers back to their homes.
It should be noted that the two villages, Prey Chan and Chork Chey, have a combined total of nearly 1,000 families. During their temporary stay at Chan Sy Pagoda Safety Centre, all evacuees received full care from the authorities, including arranged accommodation, food supplies, financial assistance, and other necessary materials.
