(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen announced a plan to produce protective body armor for supply to the Cambodian military, with the possibility of exporting abroad if orders are placed.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen confirmed that the body armor Cambodia will produce is branded “DSS”, and Samdech is the owner of this body-armor manufacturing factory.

Samdech Techo spoke on Monday (Nov. 17) during the 33rd National Congress of Buddhist Monks at the National Institute of Education.

“Soon, there will be DSS-brand body armor produced for equipping our armed forces, and it can also be exported to other countries if they order. The brand name is DSS, and I am the owner,” Samdech Techo underscored.

At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen acknowledged Cambodia’s previous gap in supplying body armor and protective helmets for soldiers during armed incidents along the border with Thailand, as the country did not anticipate a war scenario. However, he noted that the Cambodian armed forces are now fully equipped with sufficient armor and protective gear.
