(Phnom Penh): In the first ten months of 2025, Cambodia exported more than 11 million tons of agricultural products to international markets, generating over USD 4 billion, an increase of 28.57 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.

According to a report from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Nov. 12), from January to October 2025, the total volume of exported crops recorded by the General Directorate of Agriculture through the National Phytosanitary Data System reached 11,890,005.55 tons. Among them, non-rice crop products accounted for 5,744,455.41 tons, paddy rice for 5,446,611.14 tons, and milled rice for 698,939 tons, exported to 90 countries worldwide.

The report further stated that Cambodia’s agricultural exports during this ten-month period were valued at USD 4,183,126,625.70. Of that, non-rice crop products accounted for USD 2,534,496,447.27, paddy rice for USD 1,092,099,999.68, and milled rice for USD 556,530,178.75.

“During the ten months of 2025, agricultural exports increased by 2,642,377.69 tons, including 1,985,335.66 tons of paddy rice, 465,132.03 tons of non-rice crops, and 191,910 tons of milled rice, compared to the same period in 2024,” the report added.

Following Thailand’s unilateral closure of land border crossings, Cambodia exported agricultural products to Thailand via waterway routes, totalling 2,398.29 tons worth USD 7,049,015.22, recorded from 24 June to the end of October 2025.

However, in October 2025, export volume fell to 670.10 tons, equivalent to USD 1,250,315.50, marking a 27.52 per cent decrease (USD 474,615.50) compared to September, which recorded 377.40 tons worth USD 1,724,931.

MAFF also noted that despite the 28.57 per cent overall growth in agricultural exports during the ten months of 2025, some crop products experienced declines due to various factors. Notably, fresh cassava exports decreased as farmers shifted production toward dried and processed cassava starch, which has longer shelf life and higher value. Specifically, exports of dried cassava rose by 60.91 per cent, while cassava starch exports grew by 82.59 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
