(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, for a courtesy call and bilateral discussions on Monday (Nov. 10) at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, the Korean foreign minister expressed his deep gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for granting him and his delegation the opportunity to pay a courtesy call. He highly praised and valued the remarkable progress in relations and excellent cooperation between the two countries across all sectors.
In response, Samdech Thipadei expressed appreciation to the Republic of Korea for its active contribution to Cambodia’s socio-economic recovery and development. He underscored that the official visit of the Korean Foreign Minister and his delegation to Cambodia on this occasion would serve as a driving force in further deepening bilateral relations and cooperation.
Samdech Thipadei also commended and expressed gratitude to the Korean government for its continued care and warm hospitality extended to Cambodian citizens living and working in the Republic of Korea.
Likewise, the prime minister emphasised that ensuring the safety and well-being of Korean nationals residing and working in Cambodia remains a top priority of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
Both sides also discussed ways to further strengthen and expand Cambodia–Korea bilateral cooperation in key areas, including economy, investment, trade, defense and security, industry, the establishment of a special economic zone for Korean enterprises, people-to-people exchanges, and tourism promotion that all aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.
